Twin The Plate Campaign

One Plate – Two Lives – Endless Impact.

Every day, millions of people sit down to enjoy a meal without thinking twice. Yet for many children in Cameroon’s conflict-affected communities, hunger stands between them and education. Twin the Plate is a simple, powerful campaign by Community Vision Group (CVG) that invites you to turn your everyday meals into hope for a child. When you twin your plate, you ensure that a hungry child receives a locally sourced healthy and nutritious school meal — so they can attend school, concentrate in class, and grow with dignity.

Family Meal Time                  CVG

Your Family                                                            The Children you feed at school

What Does “Twin the Plate” Mean?

Twinning your plate means making a conscious choice: “If I can eat today, a child without the means elsewhere should eat too.”

Each time you enjoy a meal at home, at work, or in a restaurant you can twin that plate by sharing the cost of school meals with a child who needs it. At  just $0.30 per child per day, even a modest meal can make a powerful difference.

The Cost – The Power – The Impact.

In Cameroon, a child attends school for 180 days per academic year.

  • $0.30 → feeds 1 child for 1 school day
  • $1.50 → feeds 1 child for a school week
  • $6 → feeds 1 child for a month
  • $54 → feeds 1 child for the full school year (180 days)

For you, a modest meal out can cost $6–$10. That means your meal out can:

  • Feed a child for 1–2 weeks
  • Or cover multiple children for several days
  • A family celebration can feed a child for weeks
  • A year of conscious twinning can change a lifetime

Why Twin the Plate?

You do so to support a cause and for us, in partnership with you, hunger should never decide a child’s future. Thus, a daily school meal:

  • Attracts children to school
  • Encourages school attendance
  • Improves concentration and learning outcomes
  • Supports physical growth and cognitive development
  • Reduces pressure on families affected by poverty and conflict
  • Restores dignity, stability, and hope

For many children, the school meal is the only reliable meal of the day.

How the Program Works

  • You Twin Your Plate

You choose to twin a meal you are about to enjoy—whether simple or special.

You give what you can, knowing that every $0.30 matters for a child per day.

  • CVG Feeds a Child

Through the Nourish2Flourish Home-Grown School Feeding Program, CVG:

  • Provides locally sourced healthy and nutritious meals in schools
  • Provides a steady, structured and profitable market to poor smallholder farmers
  • Improves local agricultural production and strengthens local food systems
  • Boost local economies and enhances community resilience

Your plate supports both a child and a community.

  • You Receive a Twin the Plate Certificate

Everyone who twins their plate receives a Twin the Plate Certificate — a symbol of shared humanity and extended impact.

What You Do With Your Certificate

  • Display it in your kitchen or dining space
  • Start conversations with family and guests
  • Show that your kitchen/table feeds more than one place

“This kitchen twins its plate.
Because no child should learn on an empty stomach.”

Ways to Twin Your Plate

  • When eating out
  • During family meals
  • On birthdays and celebrations
  • In honor or memory of a loved one
  • Church or Organizational Family Meals

Twin Together: Families, Friends & Teams

Twin the Plate is even more powerful when done together.

  • Families can twin meals at home
  • Friends can twin celebration dinners
  • Workplaces can twin staff lunches
  • Faith groups and schools can twin communal meals

Small actions, multiplied, create lasting change. YES, Every plate you twin helps feed a real child, in a real school, for a real day.
